
John A. Slosier, 72, of Elyria, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born April 7, 1940 in Elyria and was a 1958 graduate of Elyria High School.
John served four years with the U.S. Navy and two years in the Navy Reserve. John was employed as a tool and die maker at Timms Spring Company and then for 27 years at Ridge Tool Company, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Elyria United Polish Club and Elyria AMVETS Post 32. John loved his dogs and enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and golf.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dixie Darlene (nee Parsons); brother, Richard (Marlene) Slosier of Wellington; sister, Sandra (David) Dicken of Elyria; sister-in-law, Judy Crowell of Plymouth, Minnesota; nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Slosier in 1985; and mother, Margaret (nee Vargo) Slosier in 1997.
Friends will be received Monday, December 10, 2012 from 5 P.M. until the time of a 7 P.M. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Robert Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
