I sent you an email and called you but no answer - must be busy. But have you heard from over 25 people now? We'd like to order from the menu, like mentioned in the mail.???????
Thanks, Judy

FYI: In the sample invite I sent to Sharon with prices of dinners the gratuity was included in the price (but not the tax ). i.e. orig. Spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs was 18.95 and 20% tip = $22.73. so our classmates shouldn't expect to pay 20% more.

John Moyes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 30, 2024.

John "Jack" Andrew Moyes, born on March 26, 1940, in Elyria, Ohio, to John and Veronica Jean Moyes, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 19, 2024.

Jack grew up Presbyterian and converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1967. Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, Jack made friends easily and was beloved by all who knew him. His passion for sports was evident from a young age, filling his schedule with baseball, basketball, football, and bowling, though golf remained his greatest love. As a child, Jack often worked as a caddy at the local country club, nurturing his deep-rooted love for golf.

Jack was elected the 1958 senior class president by his peers at Elyria High School, despite not even entering the race for the position. He went on to study at The Ohio State University, where he formed lasting friendships with many future sports legends and played championship-level golf for the university.

In 1963, midway through his education, Jack was drafted into the Army for service in Vietnam. The day he received his draft notice, he immediately headed to the Navy recruiting office to enlist in the United States Navy instead. Jack faithfully served in the Navy for four years, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. While stationed in Hawaii, Jack enjoyed his weekends indulging in steak and lobster dinners, embracing the local culture and cuisine.

After his Navy service, Jack joined the Air National Guard in Salt Lake City. He served faithfully for an additional 23 years and retired as a Master Sergeant.

Jack started a family in 1982, which included adopting two daughters and having three of his own. In 2002, after marrying Edna Yarborough, Jack gained three step-children . As the years passed, Jack transitioned into one of his most cherished roles: Grandpa.

Jack was known for his fun-loving nature and his penchant for storytelling. He loved a good joke and was tough, loyal, frugal, and stubborn in a good Scottish way. He always appreciated a good meal, and his children cherished his visits.

Jack's legacy is one of strength, love, and dedication to his family and country. He proudly served his country, loved vintage cars, and had a lifelong passion for golf.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica Jean Moyes, and his sister, Jeanette Douglas. He is survived by his wife, Edna; his children, Dacy (Ray) Pollock, Gina Weibel, Kristen Moyes, John Moyes, and Jacob Moyes; his step-children, Tim (Corinne) Roberts, Kimberly (Brett) Fender, and Melissa (Greg) Sills; and his grandchildren, Seiler, Landen, Xander, Guy, Zoe, Clementine, Janelle, Jamisen, Lani, Macy, John, Rais, Kade, Afton, Olivia, Natali, Irelan, Levi, Ivie, Isaiah, Robbie, and Zoe.

A memorial service to honor Jack's life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 6024 Grove Dr in Knoxville, TN. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at the East Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery, located at 2200 E Gov. John Sevier Hwy in Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory
