Connie E. Miller, 73, departed this life on March 12, 2014, at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, of natural causes. Connie, a resident of Russells Point, had been in Elyria since her illness warranted hospitalization and close care in May 2013. While there, she resided with her son and daughter at their residences in North Amherst and Amherst, respectively.

She was born in Glenville, W.Va., on March 31, 1940, and moved to Ohio in 1942 where she lived the rest of her life. She was a 1958 graduate of Elyria High School and the Oberlin School of Commerce. She resided in Elyria, Lorain, Vermillion, Huron and Oberlin before moving to the Russells Point area.

Connie worked as a secretary, store clerk, hotel desk clerk and Realtor at different points of her life, but her primary focus was that of a stay-at-home mother to her children. She enjoyed travel and shopping for home-spun crafts.

She was a member of the Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church. She was married to Roger McVetta from 1960 to 1982, when they divorced.

Connie is survived by two sons, Jeffrey of North Amherst and Jason of San Francisco, and a daughter, Pamela McKinney of Amherst; three grandchildren, Marissa and Aleesia McKinney and  Lexie McVetta; sister, Peggy (Mike) Norviel of Lewistown and brother Gary (Nancy) Miller of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; nieces, Dawne (Keith) Brooks of Columbus and Jacqueline (Claude) Jones of Indianapolis; and two grandnieces and a grandnephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey G. Miller and Kathleen Gladys Gardner Miller, and two brothers, Jackie Guy Miller and David Eugene Miller.

A memorial service will be announced.
