Virginia Mae Shamel Lockard, 80, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021.  Mrs. Lockard was born in Elyria, a daughter of the late William Shane Shamel and Hannah Fountain Shamel.

Mrs. Lockard is survived by her husband Jacque W. Lockard; sons, Timothy Lockard (Michael) ofSanford and James Lockard (shaylene) of Helena, Montana; sister-in-law, Rita Pohorence of Ohio; sister Betty Kimble (Raleigh) of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jacque (April), Elizabeth and Destiny and one great-grandchild, Kailen.

Cremation has taken place and no services are being held.
