Vermilion...Gary L. Burton, 72, of Vermilion, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.  He was born July 4, 1940 in Elyria, Ohio and had been a Vermilion resident for a short time moving from Lorain and Elyria.  Gary was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Canbrerra.  He worked for Nordson Corp., Amherst as an assembler for 13 years retiring in 2001.  He had also worked at GE in Oberlin and 13 years as a sales engineer for Bendix, Elyria.  Gary had been a member of the United Polish Club, American Legion and Elks all in Elyria.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, shooting at the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club and Vermilion Fish and Game.  Gary was also a proud 30 year member of AA.  He is survived by his son, Brent Burton of Katy, TX; daughter, Kristen Cooper of FL; 4 grandchildren: Brittany and Hadley Burton and Alison and Carson Cooper; and a sister, Beverly Ellerbe of Huston, TX.  He was preceeded in death by his parents, A. Lowell and Julia (nee Harsar) Burton.  Inurnment will take place Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio with military honors presented.  Memorial Contributions are suggested to Alcoholic Anonymous, 577 Brodaway, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
