Robert Thomas Garber, 72, entered into rest Thursday, December 6, 2012. Robert “Bob” was born April 10, 1940 in Elyria.

Bob graduated from Elyria High School in 1958 and Ohio University in 1965. He taught high school industrial arts in Parma and was an industrial engineer for Stanadyne Corporation and General Motors before retiring from his own business. After retirement, he worked part-time for EM Service in Elyria. An avid car enthusiast he spent his retirement restoring antique cars and furniture, woodworking, gardening and tinkering on many projects. He spent winters in Orange City, Florida with his late wife Barbara.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Mesar, Lorain; sons, Philip Garber, Illinois; and Russell (Stephanie) Garber, Columbus; and step children Mark (Shemina) Lloyd, James (Rhonda) Lloyd and Donald (Jennifer) Lloyd; grandchildren, Mackenzie Durdak, Christopher, Ashley and Isabella Mesar; Jordan, Chloe and Meghan Garber; and step grandchildren, Mason, Tommy, Maggie, Cooper, Carter, Casey, Camden, Henry, and Roxana Lloyd, brother Lawrence (Anita) Garber; and sister, Janice (Glen) Johnston; his faithful West Highland Terrier, Heidi and cat Bernie.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara (nee Pincura) this past August; and his parents, Donald and Helen (nee Boynton) Garber.

The family will receive friends at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd. Avon Wednesday December 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. where a funeral service will also be held on Thursday, December 13 at 11 A.M. A private interment will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
