William Gerber

William Gerber passed away Dec. 11, 2020 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a long illness.  He was born Dec. 10, 1940 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident.  Bill was a member of Community of Faith United Church of Christ in Elyria.  He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, visiting casinos, travel and had coached his son's Little League Baseball team.  Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Charlene A.  (Gang), and a grandson, Andrew W. Gerber (Ashley).  Bill was preceded in death by his son, William C., and his parents, Karl and Myrtle (nee Struck) Gerber.  A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be sent to Community of Faith United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Rd., Elyria, Ohio 44035.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria (440-322-4626.  Online condolences to the family may be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com.

Charlene  My sympathies to you and your family with the passing of Bill

I will be praying for peace and comfort in the days ahead.  I lost my significan

other, of 12 years on Sept 18.  Trying to take it a day at a time, but not always

Char, so very sad to hear we have lost your Bill. I had just sent him a birthday message.....didn't realize he'd been in hospice. I wish we could all celebrate his life together, but obviously we cannot right now. I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers in the days ahead. Much love...❤🙏🏻❤
