Lawrence (Larry) Ives, 76, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. He was born in Elyria, where he lived until moving to North Ridgeville in 2003.
Lawrence was a graduate of Elyria High School, Class of 1958. Larry was a member of the National Guard from 1956-1966. He worked as a job setter at Ridge Tool for 41 years, until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and bowling in the Moose and Elks leagues. Larry was a member of the AmVets, Elyria Post #32, Loyal Order of the Moose, Elyria 778, and the Masonic Lodge, Elyria for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carroll of 35 years; sons, Randy (Cheryl) Ives of Grafton, Brian (Tammy) Ives of East Ridge, Tennessee, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister Aurey Reising of Elyria; brother, Jack (Jane) Ives of Elria and brother-in-law, Gilbert (Fuzz) Reising of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Mildred Ives; brother, Dick Ives; sisters, Beverly Reising and Joann Ives.
Friends may call Saturday, October 3, from 10 A.M., until the time of service at 12 P.M., at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery at a later date.
