JACK PERKINS

Jack C. Perkins, 70, of Elyria, died Mon­day, April 26, 2010, at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridge­ville, following a long illness. He was born August 26, 1939 in Wooster and lived in Elyria for most of his life.

Mr. Perkins was elected “King” at Jefferson Junior High School and was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1958. While at Elyria High, he earned varsity letters in both football and track. He was employed in the maintenance department of National Gyp­sum Company in Lorain. He also worked for the City of Elyria and for the Elyria Board of Education, in the maintenance department.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen and one son, Brian. He is also survived by three brothers, Phil Perkins of Colorado, Richard (Cork) Perkins of Oklahoma an d Robert (Butch) Perkins of
Elyria; and five sisters, Peggy Yorks and Judy Webb, both of Elyria, Sally Lacko of La­ Grange, Donna Ellis of Florida, and Patricia Campbell of Tennes­see. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Perkins was pre­ceded in death by his parents, Howard and Betty (nee Gib­bons) Perkins.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. Friends may also call Friday, April 30, 2010 from 10 A.M. until the time of services at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Pastor Von Berlin, of St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memor­ial Park, Amherst Township.

We will miss you, Jack!  I remember seeing you at our last non-reunion luncheon!  Jack was always quiet and sincere, never had a bad word for anyone!
