Willie Erskin Terry, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at Mercy Regional Hospital in Lorain. He was born October 27, 1940 in New Market, Alabama, and resided in Lorain County most of his life.

He graduated from Elyria High School in 1958. He had a desire to study Journalism in college, but decided to accept employment at American Standard in Elyria. He was later employed at Ford Motor Company in Lorain as a laborer for 30 years from 1967 to 1997.

Terry, "Erskin", as known to most, enjoyed barbecuing and considered himself as one of the best barbecuing chefs ever! Erskin also enjoyed family gatherings, outdoor events, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and he enjoyed heated debates regarding politics, sports, religion (and any other topic), with his brother-in-law, Sanders Frasier. Some of his other hobbies included scripting with fountain pens, fishing, golfing, bowling, reading good novels, watching football, basketball and baseball games, his favorite sports team was the Cleveland Browns. He admired Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X and he loved a variety of music and musicians, and Motown Hits.

He is survived by his sister, Annie Bell Frasier of Los Angeles, California; four daughters, Sonya Terry, Vivian Ward, Victoria Hills, all of Detroit, Michigan and LaRhonda Degraphenreed Hoosier-Bell of Indianapolis, Indiana; four sons, Erksin Terry of North Carolina, Eric Terry and Lamont Hisle of Columbus and Trevor Terry of Lorain and a loving nephew, Ajamu Frasier of Los Angeles, California; 13 loving grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Janie V. Terry and Henry Thomas Terry and his loving brother, Henry Franklin Terry "JT".

Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 from 10 A.M. until time of Service at 11 A.M., at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain. His son, Minister Eric Terry of Columbus, will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, in Elyria.
